Calling it a day

Life seems to be passing me by at an alarming pace at present...

Honestly, I can't believe 2012 is nearly over already.

I've spent an inordinate amount of time travelling this year....

And, to be honest, the childlike kick I used to get from blogging...

... seems to have faded for now.

Then I meet someone like Luis, who has been blogging quality photos every day for over 5 years, whilst holding down a day job, running a newspaper in his free time and also maintaining a successful relationship...

... and I realise it's time to let the blog go.

I'm still taking photos though! And meeting some very interesting people in the process....

And a special thanks to Dawn - hope it's OK that I borrowed your blog style for this post:-)

  1. It's a pity Alan, but you're right, if you aren't enjoying blogging, you should move on...
But I'm glad to know I'll keep learning photography with you! ;-)

  5. What a shame!! I've only just found your blog and love it. I wonder why so many people give up blogging. I'm very sad about it, but I guess it has to come from the heart, and if you don't feel it's not going to come out well. I hope you find, you don't want to give it up anyway, but I'll connect on Flickr and otherwise.

  6. Sort of could see this coming. The immense irony is that I was going to cease come December 31, but Biting Midge talked me into breathing life into the portal. And ... the first person I head hunted to join the portal was ... Luis!!

I am tracking you on Flickr ... and will go out and find you on FB ... keep truckin' ...

  8. I am genuinely sorry to have arrived at your blog the very moment you felt you have to drop out of blogging!
I can empathise with your decision, still, I also hope that you may come back, at least occasionally, with the one or other photograph and putting you on my blogroll, to make sure I won't miss any updates.
My best wishes for the future,
    Merisi

I still have lots to learn about photography. All comments or constructive criticism are very welcome!
